Kathleen Mullaney
At the top of Queen Anne hill in Seattle you will find one of its unknown but unhidden gems; Kathleen Mullaney Lamps.
Kathleen Mullaney began sewing at the age of six. Throughout her life, she has made a living sewing a variety of things, one being a successful line of baby clothes, during her children's early lives. Later she developed an interest in lamps and opened a shop in Aspen Colorado. Several years ago she returned to Seattle and opened Kathleen Mullaney Lamps in the Queen Anne neighborhood.
Kathi loves what she does, she is experimental but practical, whimsical yet chic, sophisticated yet homey. She is master of her materials, a splendid craftsman.
Kathleen Mullaney is a respected resource for design professionals and private clients who are looking for exceptional quality, hand-sewn, custom designed lampshades and specialty lamps.
In completing a room, lamps reveal a magical experience and reflect the character and individuality of the owner. Kathleen's work is fashion driven with a color palette to compliment a variety of settings whether it is contemporary, traditional, or country.
Every lamp in Kathleen Mullaney's store is created, designed, sculpted, constructed and conceived by Kathi — who has so many ideas she simply cannot produce all of them. The stones in her rock lamps are collected by beach combing on the Washington coast and Seattle area beaches with her constant companions, Tiny and Shorty, her beloved Australian Terriers. The lamps with antique elements are made of parts perused from the flea markets of Paris, found on the web, or fabricated to her specifications.
Whether you choose a lamp already made, or have her custom design a shade or whole lamp, you will leave anxious to return for more.
